Cedar Rapids Community Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

Teacher Development Coordinator

Location: ELSC

Additional Information: The Teacher Development Coordinator (TDC) will work collaboratively with the Cedar Rapids Community School District Teacher Leadership Team, District Administration, and teaching staff to support beginning teachers and assure that we deliver on the District Vision of Every Learner: Future Ready.

Supervised by: Director, Culture & Climate Transformation

Position Summary:
The Teacher Development Coordinator (TDC) is responsible for ensuring effective teaching in every classroom by designing, developing, and coordinating the implementation of a CRCSD best practice compendium, an instructional audit system, and a system of growth and development for beginning and career teachers.

Amount of Teacher Leader Service:
191 days

Training required:
Summer @ $25.00/hour:
1 day student centered coaching / tools
2 days with facilitators for district professional learning (curriculum, HRS, IDI)
New IDS (only): 2 days coaching basics workshop coaching stems, instructive to facilitative
Summer @ District Stipend
2 days Marzano - NASOT

Current salary plus $4,000.00
An additional twenty days at $340.00/day
Summer professional as listed above

Job Requirements:
- Standard Iowa Teaching License with five years of teaching experience with at least three years of experience in the Cedar Rapids Community School District (preferred)
- Ability to train and coach New Art and Science of Teaching
- Ability to train and coach Intercultural Development Inventory
- Expert in designing, presenting and facilitating adult learning experiences
- Knowledge and experience using district technology resources
- Knowledge and understanding of the Iowa Core
- Completed Mentor/Induction Coach training provided by Grant Wood AEA and The New Teacher Center
- Coordinate and collaborate with college partners to complete student teacher placements and field experience
- Coordinate HRS survey implementation
- Coordinate HRS certification progress

Essential Job Elements:
TDC will design, develop and support to ensure effective teaching in every classroom. The following indicators will be used to measure performance:

1. TDC communicates NASOT as district wide language and model of instruction.
a. Design, develop, and deliver professional learning for GWAEA induction coaches in the New Art and Science of Teaching
b. Design, develop, and deliver professional learning for all new and career teachers in the New Art and Science of Teaching
c. Design, develop and coordinate best practice video compendium
d. Design, develop and coordinate instructional audit system
2. TDC monitors the predominant instructional strategies throughout the district
a. Design, develop and coordinate best practice video compendium
b. Design, develop and coordinate instructional audit system
3. TDC ensures that new teachers have opportunities to observe and discuss effective teaching
a. Design, develop and coordinate best practice video compendium
b. Design, develop and coordinate instructional audit system

Measures of Effectiveness and Professional Growth:
- All Teacher Leader Positions will be evaluated annually in an effort to provide opportunities for the teacher to reflect upon his/her practice and administration to provide feedback to enhance professional growth.
- CRCSD evaluation procedure will be used.
- TLS rubric identifying levels of development will be used to monitor growth and determine if the teacher leader is performing at a satisfactory level to continue in the teacher leader role.
- Personal Reflection on professional growth in relation to essential job elements.
- Meets or exceeds all performance targets.
