Kodiak Island Borough School District is seeking high qualified applicants for the following position:
Location: Kodiak High School
Date Available: 2020-2021 School Year
Qualifications: Applicants must have a State of Alaska Type-B Certificate with appropriate endorsement.
Member of Kodiak Administrators Association
Administrator responsible for Assisting the principal with establishing and maintaining effective operations of Kodiak High School, for overseeing the Learning Café, Homeschool, and Learning Academy, including supervision of the Head Teacher of each program, and for coordinating all aspects of Kodiak High School Career Technical Education.
Superintendent designee for District-wide administrative duty.
Take direction from the KHS Principal
Serve as the KHS Principal designee
Operate Kodiak High School as a community evacuation center in the event of an emergency
Serve as CTE Advisory Committee Chair
Conduct eligibility checks for activities
Coordinate and oversee CPR and First Aid training for coaches, staff, and advisors
Serve as a member of District Safety Committee
Maintain medical and accident documentation
Coordinate afterschool event supervision
Manage beginning of year and end of year check out
Provide attendance supervision and school discipline
Coordinate policies and practices regarding District-wide student activities
Perform review and alignment of student handbooks
District-wide Emergency Safety and Preparedness
Professional development on safety procedures
Coordination of all safety drills: fire, lock in, earthquake.
Safety and Security of Kodiak High School
Emergency and crisis plans: annual review and update
Pandemic disease preparation and management
Safety and security procedures
Attend and monitor school activities
Participate in community activities relative to student health and safety
Provide leadership and support to school-related parent organizations
Maintain a continuous study of the problems confronting the schools, evaluate the quality and efficiency of all functions and report to the Assistant Superintendent as often as required
Hiring, observation, and evaluation of classified and certified personnel
Communicate through appropriate administrator for instructional or operational needs
Positive behavior support and character programs development and implementation
Participate in District-wide initiatives which support social-emotional learning
Attend all Board, Strategic Planning, Administrative Council, and Budget Development meetings and work sessions
Implement District-wide Strategic Plan
Celebrate and share student and school
