Details: Cobb County School District is accepting applications for the following positions: Supervisor, Program for Students with Disabilities JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Educational Level: Master’s DegreeCertification/License Required: Leadership CertificatePhysical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilitiesProficient Skills: Written and Oral Communication, Planning, Organization JOB DESCRIPTION: To coordinate all aspects of assigned disabled program area(s); to coordinate the elements involved in providing an appropriate educational program for disabled students in evaluation and instruction; to provide direct and on-going leadership to special education teachers, teacher evaluation/assessment process, and curriculum planning and development. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops procedures for measuring student achievement, analyzes data, and facilitates improving achievement. Coordinates the development and implementation of specialized curriculum and appropriate instructional strategies based on student achievement data, current literature and research. Assesses personnel training needs and plans for appropriate staff development activities. Assists in the formulation of program guidelines in response to federal guidelines, State Department of Education directives, and local policies. Monitors class sizes, requests personnel allotments as needed, and assists in collecting and verifying student attendance information at the system level. Works with parents regarding specific program concerns and attends IEP meetings as appropriate. Provides input to appropriate personnel regarding the specialized transportation and facility modifications required by selected students. Reviews and maintains program records and monitors due process procedures. Participates in budget process. SALARY: Salary placement will be based on the Cobb County Board of Education approved salary schedules.
