2020-21 Temporary Teacher Pool (Kindergarten-Grade 5)

Springfield Public Schools is accepting applications for temporary teachers (Kindergarten through Grade 5). Qualified candidates will be contacted by building administrators as positions are identified.

About the District
Springfield Public Schools is located in Springfield, Oregon, in the heart of the Willamette Valley, and serves 185 square miles of the city of Springfield and East/Central Lane County. We are directly to the east of Eugene, where the University of Oregon is located. We currently have over 10,000 students, 1,446 staff members including 645 teachers in our kindergarten through grade 12 school district.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and experience with elementary school-aged students
Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work
Knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS)
Demonstrated understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position
Strong student management skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom management
Ability to establish effective and collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, student and community populations

Minimum Qualifications
A valid state of Oregon teaching license with an Elementary-Multiple Subjects endorsement
Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks
