Greenwich Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position:

Math Coordinator K-8

Position Purpose
The K-8 Math Coordinator is responsible for the design, development, and evaluation of the math academic program. The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Head of K-8 Leadership.

Essential Functions

Serves as a K-8 program leader and a liaison between the district, Board of Education, and K-8 teachers.

Designs, evaluates, and revises program curriculum, including ALP math curriculum, and ensures alignment with state standards.

Provides organization and leadership in the adoption and use of instructional materials.

Develops, recommends, and assists in the implementation of the budget for his/her academic field.

Plans and conducts professional learning and development for the programís teachers.

Collaborates with K-8 administrators, teachers, and other program coordinators.

Ensures that staff is informed on Connecticut Core Math Standards (CCS)

Plans and conducts K-8 program meetings.

Researches best practices of teaching and professional learning opportunities to provide to the staff.

Keeps all stakeholders; schools, teachers, administrators, and community informed about program developments.

Creates and distributes clear learning progressions for program teachers.

Teacher Evaluations

Provide instructional strategies, guidance for RTI plans

Coordinate with the Humanities/ RTI Intervention Coordinator

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Familiarity with national, state, and local curriculum standards and frameworks.

Knowledge and experience, in any educational setting, of effective instructional and assessment practices (including data analysis).

Demonstrate experience with aligning curriculum with CT Core Math Standards (CCS)

Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.

Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation, and staff supervision.

Updates the Board of Education on program evaluation annually, student achievement, curriculum, and other reports as requested.

Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.

Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education.

Demonstrate written, oral, and presentation communication skills.

Demonstrate excellent research, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.

Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.

Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance, and professional growth.

Additional projects and/or duties as assigned by the administrator.

Qualifications Profile

Certification/License


State Certification as required for the position. (092)

CT State Teacher Certification

Education/Experience

Bachelor's and Masterís Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in School Administration.

Sixth year, doctorate, or other planned program in related field preferred.

Successful teaching and administrative experience preferred.

Math Certification preferred.
