Head of School Summary
The Head of School is the lead administrator for one of our campuses. The Head of School is the instructional leader that works collaboratively with staff to ensure NACA is continuing to offer high quality instruction, partnered with culturally relevant pedagogy, to engage our students on their educational journey.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Embody, advocate for, and execute on the mission and vision at NACA;
Actively work to build positive working relationships with students, families, community, the school district, and local, state, and Tribal governments;
Provides a safe and effective learning environment for students, staff and overall school community;
Share extensive knowledge of and experience with Indigenous education;
Collaboratively work to establish and monitor goals of next-step plans, and academic review team;
Be present with and proximal to team members, students and families;
Lead decision-making protocols with campus staff;
Supports ongoing instructional leadership among teachers and other staff to address curriculum development and overall program development in the classroom and school various setting;
Ensure that State and Federal Special Education Laws and Regulations are being followed;
Lead the analysis of student assessment data and collaboratively build strategies to better meet student and staff needs;
Collaborates with parents and communicates studentís progress and classroom expectations;
Evaluates the teaching staff on a consistent basis;
Contributes to the overall school community by supporting student clubs, activities and special programs related to schoolís vision, mission and goals;

Minimum Requirements
5 or more years teaching in a K-12 setting
NM State Administrator License
Strong personal commitment to Indigenous education, diversity, equity, and inclusiveness
Bachelorís degree and/or Masterís Degree

Preferred Requirements

Experience in administrative leadership experience in a K-12 setting
Experience implementing Indigenous education philosophy and curriculum
Demonstrated experience with strategic planning and program evaluation
Background knowledge of the fiscal and operating needs of a school
Proven results coaching and developing teachers
Experience working with children, families, and communities in school vision

Certificates and Licenses:
New Mexico Administratorís License

Supervision Received:
Is under the direction of the NACA Executive Director

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is included.
