Details: Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Diverse Learner Teacher-Autism Location: McCall Elementary School Essential Duties: Special Education Autism Teacher, with specialization working with students on the Autism Spectrum. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of best practice strategies and supports for students on the Autism spectrum and with social-communication deficits. Previous experiences with creating individualized student work systems and visual schedules. Understanding of basic behavioral principles and previous experience with the development and support of behavior intervention plans. Strong problem-solving skills and creativity when developing student support plans. Strong consultation skills in order to facilitate collaborative relationships with student general education teachers. Endorsements: Bilingual (Spanish) Teaching experience and proficiency in English and the native language the students prefer. Experience: 3-5 years of teaching special education preferred. Experience with students with autism. Experience in planning and implementing FBA/BIP. Knowledge of various technology devices and implementing the technology into the classroom and instruction.
